Mosquito Control Department

The City of Newport started its own extensive mosquito control program in the summer of 2002. During the summer of 2003, an airplane equipped for spraying was added to a fleet of 5 trucks to fight the mosquito battle. The use of the most up-to-date equipment and techniques has made our program very successful.

The trucks spray the entire city 6 nights a week and the city is sprayed by plane 3 nights weekly.

Maintenance and upkeep of all vehicles, equipment and the plane is done by the mosquito control department.
