Local Business Incentives

Businesses interested in locating in Newport, AR may be eligible for local incentives. Incentives are offered at the discretion of the Newport Economic Development Commission (NEDC) and are based upon, but not limited to, the following factors: net new jobs creation, company investment, and new payroll created as result of the project.

The goal of the NEDC is to be responsive to the specific needs of each prospect. Examples of incentives that may be offered include: infrastructure improvements, utility connections, costs associated with relocation, construction of a building for lease, reduced price for site acquisition.

In order to properly evaluate a request, a business seeking local incentives may be asked to provide relevant information about both the company and its project plans: detailed business plans, net number of new full time jobs expected to be created within first 24 months of operation, estimated payroll, and project investment.
